Narrative:
On approach into atl at 11000 ft 210 KTS, approach control advised of traffic at 12 O'clock, 6 mi, climbing to 10000 ft. Shortly thereafter, TCASII target turned red with aural warning to 'climb, climb'. Ivsi gauge showed 1/4 inch green arc at top starting at 2500 FPM up. I climbed, topping out at 12300 ft and reported my action to approach control. TCASII showed 700 ft altitude difference.
