Narrative:
After being cleared for takeoff on runway 23, I accelerated. About 1000 ft down the runway, I saw a fuel truck crossing the runway. It was past runway centerline heading to the right side when I first spotted it. By the time I thought about aborting (1 second), the truck was clear of the runway and no danger to our aircraft. With the truck 3000-3500 ft and clear of the runway, I saw no danger in continuing our takeoff as our airspeed was 80-85 KTS. During our climb out, tower told us he said to abort. No one in the aircraft heard the call as we were not using headsets and the cessna 414 is loud with takeoff power. We now use headsets in order to hear all calls. At no time was the takeoff in danger due to the fuel truck. However, the truck should have received clearance from the tower prior to crossing the runway.

Title: ACFT NOISE PRECLUDED THE FLC FROM HEARING AN ABORT COMMAND.
Narrative: AFTER BEING CLRED FOR TKOF ON RWY 23, I ACCELERATED. ABOUT 1000 FT DOWN THE RWY, I SAW A FUEL TRUCK XING THE RWY. IT WAS PAST RWY CTRLINE HDG TO THE R SIDE WHEN I FIRST SPOTTED IT. BY THE TIME I THOUGHT ABOUT ABORTING (1 SECOND), THE TRUCK WAS CLR OF THE RWY AND NO DANGER TO OUR ACFT. WITH THE TRUCK 3000-3500 FT AND CLR OF THE RWY, I SAW NO DANGER IN CONTINUING OUR TKOF AS OUR AIRSPD WAS 80-85 KTS. DURING OUR CLBOUT, TWR TOLD US HE SAID TO ABORT. NO ONE IN THE ACFT HEARD THE CALL AS WE WERE NOT USING HEADSETS AND THE CESSNA 414 IS LOUD WITH TKOF PWR. WE NOW USE HEADSETS IN ORDER TO HEAR ALL CALLS. AT NO TIME WAS THE TKOF IN DANGER DUE TO THE FUEL TRUCK. HOWEVER, THE TRUCK SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED CLRNC FROM THE TWR PRIOR TO XING THE RWY.
