Narrative:

Initially cleared to taxi to 5L. Requested 5R from ground control. We asked ground if they wanted us to cross 5L at B2 taxiway. He replied contact tower. We contacted tower and he cleared us to cross 5L at B2. We read back cleared to cross 5L. There were 3 pilots in our cockpit. We all understood cleared to cross. After crossing 5L and holding short of 5R, tower said that we were instructed to hold short of 5L. We replied that we read back cleared to cross. There was no apparent conflict involved. The tower was communicating to all the other aircraft in spanish. If he had cleared an aircraft to takeoff or land or some other instruction, we were not aware of it. Had he been controling in english, we may have picked up on a clearance to someone else that would have clued us into holding short.

Title: AN ACR MLG CROSSED RWY 5L WITHOUT CLRNC.

Narrative: INITIALLY CLRED TO TAXI TO 5L. REQUESTED 5R FROM GND CTL. WE ASKED GND IF THEY WANTED US TO CROSS 5L AT B2 TXWY. HE REPLIED CONTACT TWR. WE CONTACTED TWR AND HE CLRED US TO CROSS 5L AT B2. WE READ BACK CLRED TO CROSS 5L. THERE WERE 3 PLTS IN OUR COCKPIT. WE ALL UNDERSTOOD CLRED TO CROSS. AFTER XING 5L AND HOLDING SHORT OF 5R, TWR SAID THAT WE WERE INSTRUCTED TO HOLD SHORT OF 5L. WE REPLIED THAT WE READ BACK CLRED TO CROSS. THERE WAS NO APPARENT CONFLICT INVOLVED. THE TWR WAS COMMUNICATING TO ALL THE OTHER ACFT IN SPANISH. IF HE HAD CLRED AN ACFT TO TKOF OR LAND OR SOME OTHER INSTRUCTION, WE WERE NOT AWARE OF IT. HAD HE BEEN CTLING IN ENGLISH, WE MAY HAVE PICKED UP ON A CLRNC TO SOMEONE ELSE THAT WOULD HAVE CLUED US INTO HOLDING SHORT.
