Narrative:
2 related malfunctions were improperly deferred on this aircraft. After questioning this with company maintenance control and being assured deferrals (both on fuel gauge system) were legal, I flew the aircraft on 2 revenue flts. I was then advised the aircraft was grounded for the problems.

Title: ACR LTT PIC VIOLATES THE CAVEATS OF THE MEL REQUIREMENTS AND AIRWORTHINESS STANDARDS UNKNOWINGLY. TOOK MAINT CTL'S WORD.
Narrative: 2 RELATED MALFUNCTIONS WERE IMPROPERLY DEFERRED ON THIS ACFT. AFTER QUESTIONING THIS WITH COMPANY MAINT CTL AND BEING ASSURED DEFERRALS (BOTH ON FUEL GAUGE SYS) WERE LEGAL, I FLEW THE ACFT ON 2 REVENUE FLTS. I WAS THEN ADVISED THE ACFT WAS GROUNDED FOR THE PROBS.
