Narrative:
En route back home from a trip to ftw meachum field, right engine fuel bypass light came on. 12-15 min later just before beginning descent into fll for landing, left engine fuel bypass light came on. Second occurrence in 24 hours for left filter. It had gone to bypass en route ftw on left engine and was replaced by authority/authorized cessna repair station. Flight continued to uneventful landing at ft lauderdale. Cessna citation jet 525 had total of 90 hours since new. Filters bypassed at 53 hours and were replaced by factory service center. Aircraft sent to orlando service center after draining fuel and replacing filters. Tanks were opened and reports say that fiber glass fuzz metal particles and tape were found and removed. Cessna reportedly investigating. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that earlier models of cessna citations had a central fuel filter which all fuel flowed prior to the secondary filter for each tank. This model, 525 citation does not have such a central filter. Cessna has apparently designed a small filter, 3 inches to 1 1/2 inch in diameter as a conversion part. Cessna is aware of the problem. Rptrs company management has had other problems and is in a 'knock down drag out battle' with cessna to consider this particular aircraft a lemon. Aircraft has not been flown since the incident. The cessna service center says they have roto rootered the tanks and all should be well now. Reporter feels strongly that quality control is part of the problem since it was not just fiber glass fuzz, bad enough, but metal particles and tape that were found in the tanks. The mechanic who works on the aircraft knows of other citation owners who have had problems.

Title: SMT HAS FUEL BYPASS LIGHT ACTIVATE AT CRUISE. NOT THE FIRST TIME IT HAS HAPPENED. SECOND ENG ALSO HAS FUEL BYPASS LIGHT ACTIVATE.
Narrative: ENRTE BACK HOME FROM A TRIP TO FTW MEACHUM FIELD, R ENG FUEL BYPASS LIGHT CAME ON. 12-15 MIN LATER JUST BEFORE BEGINNING DSCNT INTO FLL FOR LNDG, L ENG FUEL BYPASS LIGHT CAME ON. SECOND OCCURRENCE IN 24 HRS FOR L FILTER. IT HAD GONE TO BYPASS ENRTE FTW ON L ENG AND WAS REPLACED BY AUTH CESSNA REPAIR STATION. FLT CONTINUED TO UNEVENTFUL LNDG AT FT LAUDERDALE. CESSNA CITATION JET 525 HAD TOTAL OF 90 HRS SINCE NEW. FILTERS BYPASSED AT 53 HRS AND WERE REPLACED BY FACTORY SVC CTR. ACFT SENT TO ORLANDO SVC CTR AFTER DRAINING FUEL AND REPLACING FILTERS. TANKS WERE OPENED AND RPTS SAY THAT FIBER GLASS FUZZ METAL PARTICLES AND TAPE WERE FOUND AND REMOVED. CESSNA REPORTEDLY INVESTIGATING. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THAT EARLIER MODELS OF CESSNA CITATIONS HAD A CENTRAL FUEL FILTER WHICH ALL FUEL FLOWED PRIOR TO THE SECONDARY FILTER FOR EACH TANK. THIS MODEL, 525 CITATION DOES NOT HAVE SUCH A CENTRAL FILTER. CESSNA HAS APPARENTLY DESIGNED A SMALL FILTER, 3 INCHES TO 1 1/2 INCH IN DIAMETER AS A CONVERSION PART. CESSNA IS AWARE OF THE PROB. RPTRS COMPANY MGMNT HAS HAD OTHER PROBS AND IS IN A 'KNOCK DOWN DRAG OUT BATTLE' WITH CESSNA TO CONSIDER THIS PARTICULAR ACFT A LEMON. ACFT HAS NOT BEEN FLOWN SINCE THE INCIDENT. THE CESSNA SVC CTR SAYS THEY HAVE ROTO ROOTERED THE TANKS AND ALL SHOULD BE WELL NOW. RPTR FEELS STRONGLY THAT QUALITY CTL IS PART OF THE PROB SINCE IT WAS NOT JUST FIBER GLASS FUZZ, BAD ENOUGH, BUT METAL PARTICLES AND TAPE THAT WERE FOUND IN THE TANKS. THE MECH WHO WORKS ON THE ACFT KNOWS OF OTHER CITATION OWNERS WHO HAVE HAD PROBS.
