Narrative:
Aircraft (dc-10) experienced a loss of fluid in hydraulic system #3, followed by total loss of system #3 hydraulic. Performed all actions in the aircraft operating manual. Continued on to detroit approximately 800 NM after consulting company maintenance control and company dispatch. Performed all actions required by dc-10 cockpit operating manual to manually extend the landing gear and prepare for landing. In-flight emergency declared with dtw approach control. Equipment standing by for landing. Landed without incident.
