Narrative:
Aircraft being marshalled from parking spot. Marshaller advised us to stop aircraft. He then went and moved the jetway, looked at the wing and indicated that we had been close, but didn't strike the jetway. He then continued to marshall us out. Upon completion of the flight, we saw some possible damage to the plastic wingtip fairing during postflt. More attention needs to be placed on marshallers and wing walkers and to increase their situational awareness to stop and inspect if any possibility of damage.
