Narrative:
We were on the ground at white plains, ny. Ground control gave us taxi instructions: taxi to runway 34 hold short of 34 at intersection. We were taxiing on the parallel and saw a small corp jet back taxiing on runway 34. We asked if we could cross 34 since we were rolling well and it was uphill to cross runway 34. Ground control said negative (they seem to give preference to the local planes almost to the point of being blatantly rude). We stopped taxiing on the parallel taxiway and did not make the 90 degree turn to the crossing taxiway. The crossing taxiway is uphill and we were quite heavy. If we made the 90 degree turn and stopped, we would need a considerable amount of power to cross runway 34 and would create a jet blast hazard. Ground then demanded we make the 90 degree turn because he had cessnas to get around us (from behind). The captain refused and explained the jet blast hazard. Ground then issued instructions to cross runway 34. The controllers of small airports which solicit turbojet aircraft should be trained or briefed about basic jet operations.

Title: TAXIING TFC PROB WITH CONSIDERATIONS OF JET BLAST ENCOUNTER.
Narrative: WE WERE ON THE GND AT WHITE PLAINS, NY. GND CTL GAVE US TAXI INSTRUCTIONS: TAXI TO RWY 34 HOLD SHORT OF 34 AT INTXN. WE WERE TAXIING ON THE PARALLEL AND SAW A SMALL CORP JET BACK TAXIING ON RWY 34. WE ASKED IF WE COULD CROSS 34 SINCE WE WERE ROLLING WELL AND IT WAS UPHILL TO CROSS RWY 34. GND CTL SAID NEGATIVE (THEY SEEM TO GIVE PREFERENCE TO THE LCL PLANES ALMOST TO THE POINT OF BEING BLATANTLY RUDE). WE STOPPED TAXIING ON THE PARALLEL TXWY AND DID NOT MAKE THE 90 DEG TURN TO THE XING TXWY. THE XING TXWY IS UPHILL AND WE WERE QUITE HVY. IF WE MADE THE 90 DEG TURN AND STOPPED, WE WOULD NEED A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF PWR TO CROSS RWY 34 AND WOULD CREATE A JET BLAST HAZARD. GND THEN DEMANDED WE MAKE THE 90 DEG TURN BECAUSE HE HAD CESSNAS TO GET AROUND US (FROM BEHIND). THE CAPT REFUSED AND EXPLAINED THE JET BLAST HAZARD. GND THEN ISSUED INSTRUCTIONS TO CROSS RWY 34. THE CTLRS OF SMALL ARPTS WHICH SOLICIT TURBOJET ACFT SHOULD BE TRAINED OR BRIEFED ABOUT BASIC JET OPS.
