Narrative:
Carried law enforcement personnel from crime scene, notified after takeoff of tear gas and other hazardous material in belly, not declared by swat team. Landed in fairbanks as scheduled and deplaned the hazardous material. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states his company notified him on company frequency that they had secured some canisters that were shipped with the troopers baggage so they did not roll around. This concerned reporter enough that he went back to speak to troopers. They said, yes, they had some tear gas and when questioned about other items they were very vague and would not indicate specifics. When questioned, they knew about not carrying their tear gas canisters aboard, but did not see the problem with those in the baggage area. Claimed they do it all the time. Reporter has complained to company, who is now working with the troopers on either a waiver or some other means of transporting the hazardous material.

Title: FLC NOTIFIED OF HAZARDOUS MATERIAL ABOARD AFTER TKOF.
Narrative: CARRIED LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL FROM CRIME SCENE, NOTIFIED AFTER TKOF OF TEAR GAS AND OTHER HAZARDOUS MATERIAL IN BELLY, NOT DECLARED BY SWAT TEAM. LANDED IN FAIRBANKS AS SCHEDULED AND DEPLANED THE HAZARDOUS MATERIAL. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES HIS COMPANY NOTIFIED HIM ON COMPANY FREQ THAT THEY HAD SECURED SOME CANISTERS THAT WERE SHIPPED WITH THE TROOPERS BAGGAGE SO THEY DID NOT ROLL AROUND. THIS CONCERNED RPTR ENOUGH THAT HE WENT BACK TO SPEAK TO TROOPERS. THEY SAID, YES, THEY HAD SOME TEAR GAS AND WHEN QUESTIONED ABOUT OTHER ITEMS THEY WERE VERY VAGUE AND WOULD NOT INDICATE SPECIFICS. WHEN QUESTIONED, THEY KNEW ABOUT NOT CARRYING THEIR TEAR GAS CANISTERS ABOARD, BUT DID NOT SEE THE PROB WITH THOSE IN THE BAGGAGE AREA. CLAIMED THEY DO IT ALL THE TIME. RPTR HAS COMPLAINED TO COMPANY, WHO IS NOW WORKING WITH THE TROOPERS ON EITHER A WAIVER OR SOME OTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORTING THE HAZARDOUS MATERIAL.
