Narrative:
Oil quantity began dropping from 16 to 1 on left engine. Flight was lfpo to kphl. APU was started, engine idled, drift down from FL430 to FL270 made. Oil pressure dropped through caution to red and engine was shut down. Dispatch and crew picked bgr as nearest suitable airport due to rain snow fog and icing at canadian alternates and due to superior crash fire rescue equipment in bgr. A successful single engine ILS in visual conditions to bgr runway 33 was accomplished. Crew used lessons from crew resource management training to delegate workload and keep all crew members in decision making loop.
