Narrative:

4 to 5 mins after takeoff from rome, italy, to jfk, the ifc entered the cockpit and reported that on the takeoff roll a beverage cart from the forward galley had come free, rolled through first class and struck the partition separating first class from business class. The partition sheared off at the floor and was caught by the passenger. The flight attendant said both passenger had minor abrasions, one on his arm and the other on his hand. In her opinion, both passenger were fine and in good spirits. The cart had been restowed in the galley and she felt no further action was necessary. The captain then sent the relief pilot back to confirm the situation. He did so and returned to verify that the 2 passenger were okay and did not require any special medical attention. The relief pilot then contacted company in atl on high frequency to report the occurrence and determine if it was okay to remove the floor bracket that had held the partition since it was now a hazard for passenger walking. Atl said it was okay to remove the bracket and that company representatives would meet the flight in jfk to interview and take care of the passenger involved. The flight continued on without further occurrence.
