Narrative:
Flight cleared to cross marc at FL180 (lga mip.MIP8). Passing FL200 received a TA then almost immediately a climb RA. The traffic was a flight of 8 F-14's in a tight V form. Acquired visual contact with traffic. Estimated lateral separation at 1/2 mi and about 600-700 ft vertical separation while still climbing per climb RA at the closest point.

Title: FLC OF MLG STOPPED DSCNT AND CLBED IN RESPONSE TO A TCASII RA AND THE VISUAL SIGHTING OF A FORMATION FLT OF 8 F14 MIL ACFT.
Narrative: FLT CLRED TO CROSS MARC AT FL180 (LGA MIP.MIP8). PASSING FL200 RECEIVED A TA THEN ALMOST IMMEDIATELY A CLB RA. THE TFC WAS A FLT OF 8 F-14'S IN A TIGHT V FORM. ACQUIRED VISUAL CONTACT WITH TFC. ESTIMATED LATERAL SEPARATION AT 1/2 MI AND ABOUT 600-700 FT VERT SEPARATION WHILE STILL CLBING PER CLB RA AT THE CLOSEST POINT.
