Narrative:
After takeoff runway 8R atl tower advised blown tire right main left front. No indications or control problems. Further investigation revealed damage to #6 spoiler. Dumped fuel (15000 pounds) and returned to atlanta. Initially contacted flight control and maintenance for communication loop. Supplemental information from acn 274060: the fire trucks were requested as a precaution, there was a problem after exiting the runway. We could not communicate directly with the fire trucks, and had to go through ground control. This was a very big obstacle to effective communication.
