Narrative:
Started towing the first banner at XX00 am. All instruments read in the green during towing. At xyam I dropped the banner and re-entered the traffic pattern to pick up the second banner. All instruments read in the green with the oil temperature at 190. After picking up the second banner, during climb out, the engine failed to operate approximately 100 ft off the ground. Nosing the aircraft over to maintain airspeed, I landed on the runway. I then found out that the aircraft was not legally certified for car gas after I was told it was. Date: jun/xx/94. Conditions: sunny, upper 90's. Time: AB00 pm EST. Place: toledo suburban. Problem: engine failure during climb out. Possible cause: vapor lock. Aircraft: 150J/150J with car gas. Supplemental information from acn 274569: C150J was being operated on car gas without completed forms and waiver for car gas. Engine stopped on low pass. Pilot was forced to land.

Title: ENG FAILURE IN C150 FORCES BANNER TOWING ACFT TO LAND ON THE RWY STRAIGHT AHEAD.
Narrative: STARTED TOWING THE FIRST BANNER AT XX00 AM. ALL INSTS READ IN THE GREEN DURING TOWING. AT XYAM I DROPPED THE BANNER AND RE-ENTERED THE TFC PATTERN TO PICK UP THE SECOND BANNER. ALL INSTS READ IN THE GREEN WITH THE OIL TEMP AT 190. AFTER PICKING UP THE SECOND BANNER, DURING CLBOUT, THE ENG FAILED TO OPERATE APPROX 100 FT OFF THE GND. NOSING THE ACFT OVER TO MAINTAIN AIRSPD, I LANDED ON THE RWY. I THEN FOUND OUT THAT THE ACFT WAS NOT LEGALLY CERTIFIED FOR CAR GAS AFTER I WAS TOLD IT WAS. DATE: JUN/XX/94. CONDITIONS: SUNNY, UPPER 90'S. TIME: AB00 PM EST. PLACE: TOLEDO SUBURBAN. PROB: ENG FAILURE DURING CLBOUT. POSSIBLE CAUSE: VAPOR LOCK. ACFT: 150J/150J WITH CAR GAS. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 274569: C150J WAS BEING OPERATED ON CAR GAS WITHOUT COMPLETED FORMS AND WAIVER FOR CAR GAS. ENG STOPPED ON LOW PASS. PLT WAS FORCED TO LAND.
