Narrative:
Arrived at very hot steamy aircraft. APU deferred as inoperative for doors. Turned on switch, doors opened. Visually checked and inlet door opened, APU started and worked normally. Notified maintenance. Maintenance said try it again in dfw. Worked normally. Shut it down for maintenance to take a look. Found #2 fire bottle squib switch blown off bottle with damage to APU exhaust intake and halon feed tube to #2 engine. APU deferred on MEL 49-1. Should have been deferred on 49-2 APU. Doors inoperative collared circuit breakers.
