Narrative:
I picked up 2 passenger for a scenic flight. We flew for approximately 1/2 of 1 hour, when the engine lost partial power. I went through my checklist attempting to restore power, however, my attempts were unsuccessful and I was unable to maintain altitude. I sent out a mayday and squawked 7700 and set the aircraft up for an approach to a field that I had chosen, doing everything in my power to set the airplane down safely. The airplane came to rest on the far side of a pond at the end of the field which I had chosen.
