Narrative:
En route from dal to hou on jul/xx/94 we were cleared to descend so as to cross 5 DME north of tnv VOR at and maintain 9000 and cleared for the struk 8 arrival to hou. Descending through 10400 ft we were told to maintain 10000 ft. Leveling at 10000 ft we were told to turn right 30 degrees which we did. As that turn was completed we were told to turn further right another 30 degrees. Just as we rolled out of that turn on the new heading, a different voice said 'nxx climb immediately to 11000 ft, climb now.' because of the urgent tone of voice, I immediately pulled back on the yoke and executed about a 2G pullup, climbing to 11000 ft within 15-20 seconds. We also heard the new controller talking to another aircraft directing him to 9000 ft. After determining that we were level at 11000 ft, the controller cleared us direct to tnv. Later, when we asked what that was all about, the controller said 'there is some training in progress, sorry about that' and later when he handed us off, 'thanks for your help.'

Narrative: ENRTE FROM DAL TO HOU ON JUL/XX/94 WE WERE CLRED TO DSND SO AS TO CROSS 5 DME N OF TNV VOR AT AND MAINTAIN 9000 AND CLRED FOR THE STRUK 8 ARR TO HOU. DSNDING THROUGH 10400 FT WE WERE TOLD TO MAINTAIN 10000 FT. LEVELING AT 10000 FT WE WERE TOLD TO TURN R 30 DEGS WHICH WE DID. AS THAT TURN WAS COMPLETED WE WERE TOLD TO TURN FURTHER R ANOTHER 30 DEGS. JUST AS WE ROLLED OUT OF THAT TURN ON THE NEW HDG, A DIFFERENT VOICE SAID 'NXX CLB IMMEDIATELY TO 11000 FT, CLB NOW.' BECAUSE OF THE URGENT TONE OF VOICE, I IMMEDIATELY PULLED BACK ON THE YOKE AND EXECUTED ABOUT A 2G PULLUP, CLBING TO 11000 FT WITHIN 15-20 SECONDS. WE ALSO HEARD THE NEW CTLR TALKING TO ANOTHER ACFT DIRECTING HIM TO 9000 FT. AFTER DETERMINING THAT WE WERE LEVEL AT 11000 FT, THE CTLR CLRED US DIRECT TO TNV. LATER, WHEN WE ASKED WHAT THAT WAS ALL ABOUT, THE CTLR SAID 'THERE IS SOME TRAINING IN PROGRESS, SORRY ABOUT THAT' AND LATER WHEN HE HANDED US OFF, 'THANKS FOR YOUR HELP.'
