Narrative:
Filed flight plan dxd, dunks, J70 pmm flight plan route. After takeoff given heading 310, intercept J70, flight plan route. Left navigation armed to intercept J70. Then received heading change to 330 to intercept which put us east of dunks and left navigation intercepted dxd direct dunks course, next we were given 350 degree heading for lear jet traffic. To complicate conditions, we were going through a line of building WX cells to the west of dxo that showed red on radar. We were really too close to svm to program all the changes on the FMC. We should not have accepted the clearance and asked for vectors.

Title: ACFT DEVS OFF COURSE DUE TO FLC INABILITY TO PROGRAM RTE FAST ENOUGH TO COMPLY WITH CLRNC.
Narrative: FILED FLT PLAN DXD, DUNKS, J70 PMM FLT PLAN RTE. AFTER TKOF GIVEN HDG 310, INTERCEPT J70, FLT PLAN RTE. L NAV ARMED TO INTERCEPT J70. THEN RECEIVED HDG CHANGE TO 330 TO INTERCEPT WHICH PUT US E OF DUNKS AND L NAV INTERCEPTED DXD DIRECT DUNKS COURSE, NEXT WE WERE GIVEN 350 DEG HDG FOR LEAR JET TFC. TO COMPLICATE CONDITIONS, WE WERE GOING THROUGH A LINE OF BUILDING WX CELLS TO THE W OF DXO THAT SHOWED RED ON RADAR. WE WERE REALLY TOO CLOSE TO SVM TO PROGRAM ALL THE CHANGES ON THE FMC. WE SHOULD NOT HAVE ACCEPTED THE CLRNC AND ASKED FOR VECTORS.
