Narrative:
This event occurred on the ramp area as we were being marshalled into parking. The marshaller brought us into an area that we thought would require being pushed back however, as we approached the point we thought we would stop and park. The marshaller indicated he wanted us to make a left turn, 180 degrees, to point in the opposite direction. As we turned through the 90 degree point it was evident the speed of the aircraft was insufficient to complete the turn therefore we increased thrust in order to complete the turn. At no time did we exceed thrust limits for taxi however, due to the close proximity to another aircraft behind us, our jet blast apparently damaged that aircraft. I feel if the marshaller had informed us of our close proximity to the other aircraft we would have stopped at that point and spared any damage to the other aircraft.

Title: B-727-100 FREIGHTER INFLICTS JET BLAST DAMAGE ON OTHER PARKED ACFT DURING RAMP OP ACFT PARKING PROC.
Narrative: THIS EVENT OCCURRED ON THE RAMP AREA AS WE WERE BEING MARSHALLED INTO PARKING. THE MARSHALLER BROUGHT US INTO AN AREA THAT WE THOUGHT WOULD REQUIRE BEING PUSHED BACK HOWEVER, AS WE APCHED THE POINT WE THOUGHT WE WOULD STOP AND PARK. THE MARSHALLER INDICATED HE WANTED US TO MAKE A L TURN, 180 DEGS, TO POINT IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. AS WE TURNED THROUGH THE 90 DEG POINT IT WAS EVIDENT THE SPD OF THE ACFT WAS INSUFFICIENT TO COMPLETE THE TURN THEREFORE WE INCREASED THRUST IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE TURN. AT NO TIME DID WE EXCEED THRUST LIMITS FOR TAXI HOWEVER, DUE TO THE CLOSE PROX TO ANOTHER ACFT BEHIND US, OUR JET BLAST APPARENTLY DAMAGED THAT ACFT. I FEEL IF THE MARSHALLER HAD INFORMED US OF OUR CLOSE PROX TO THE OTHER ACFT WE WOULD HAVE STOPPED AT THAT POINT AND SPARED ANY DAMAGE TO THE OTHER ACFT.
