Narrative:

After pwrback from gate, one of the reverser unlocked annunciator lights failed to extinguish until after 3 cycles of the reverser. After the last cycle, the light remained lighted long enough that communications with maintenance were established before beginning taxi back to gate for maintenance. 'Maintenance' was notified and told that light had extinguished and asked if they wanted us to still return to gate or write it up at the destination. They said you should be fine to your destination.' I concurred and stated that I would write it up there. With FAA inspector on board for line check I thought all was ok. XA00 pm arrival at destination (fsd), maintenance control advised that a local mechanic would have to be called out to sign it off as 'tests normal' or to secure the reverser. This makes me wonder if maintenance needed to do so before I departed.
