Narrative:
Warning horn during takeoff. We aborted. After clearing runway we checked the 6 items that can trip the takeoff warning. The only item that was suspicious was the flap gauge. The needle was in the takeoff range, but at the bottom of the arc. We cycled the flaps and the indicator needle was now centered. I then advanced the power levers to check the system and did not get a warning horn. I deducted that this event was a nuisance trip and decided to depart. (This is allowed by company procedures). On the second takeoff roll, the takeoff warning sounded again. The takeoff was aborted and I noted this time, the ground spoiler extend light was illuminated. My personal concern is that, on the second takeoff, when the horn sounded, my first thought was that it was the flap gauge, only an indication problem and would go away when reconfigured airborne. Fortunately, this impulse wasn't acted on, but the fact that it entered my mind is quite sobering.

Title: INTERMITTENT TKOF WARNING HORN ABORTED TWICE.
Narrative: WARNING HORN DURING TKOF. WE ABORTED. AFTER CLRING RWY WE CHKED THE 6 ITEMS THAT CAN TRIP THE TKOF WARNING. THE ONLY ITEM THAT WAS SUSPICIOUS WAS THE FLAP GAUGE. THE NEEDLE WAS IN THE TKOF RANGE, BUT AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ARC. WE CYCLED THE FLAPS AND THE INDICATOR NEEDLE WAS NOW CTRED. I THEN ADVANCED THE PWR LEVERS TO CHK THE SYS AND DID NOT GET A WARNING HORN. I DEDUCTED THAT THIS EVENT WAS A NUISANCE TRIP AND DECIDED TO DEPART. (THIS IS ALLOWED BY COMPANY PROCS). ON THE SECOND TKOF ROLL, THE TKOF WARNING SOUNDED AGAIN. THE TKOF WAS ABORTED AND I NOTED THIS TIME, THE GND SPOILER EXTEND LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. MY PERSONAL CONCERN IS THAT, ON THE SECOND TKOF, WHEN THE HORN SOUNDED, MY FIRST THOUGHT WAS THAT IT WAS THE FLAP GAUGE, ONLY AN INDICATION PROB AND WOULD GO AWAY WHEN RECONFIGURED AIRBORNE. FORTUNATELY, THIS IMPULSE WASN'T ACTED ON, BUT THE FACT THAT IT ENTERED MY MIND IS QUITE SOBERING.
