Narrative:
While performing the initial preflight and cockpit safety check of the day I failed to notice that the full face oxygen mask had been removed from the crew portable oxygen bottle. In fact the mask had been removed from the aircraft. The error was discovered by the crew that took the aircraft from us later in the day. The checklist reads 'crew portable oxygen and mask' on one line. During the safety check I did preflight the crew portable bottle and pressure. Perhaps making 2 checklists items on 2 lines would make this easier to perform.
