Narrative:

During the takeoff roll at approximately 90 KIAS, the aircraft experienced a low noise similar to an explosion. The aircraft veered to the right, and steering became difficult with an unusual vibration. The takeoff was immediately aborted, and the aircraft was maintained on the runway. Miami tower observed the situation and instructed us to exit runway 12 at the 'next left.' we exited runway 12 at the next left which was runway 9R. ATC advised us that they had intended for us to turn on the next left available taxiway and hold short of runway 9R, not to turn onto it. We immediately cleared runway 9R as advised. At no time was the safety of our aircraft or any other aircraft utilizing runway 9R in jeopardy. The intensity of our situation coupled with the fact that it was peak time of day at mia and that mia was utilizing converging, parallel and intersecting runways, contributed to the situation. This was merely a miscom. Clrer instructions on the part of ATC and verification by us would have aided the situation.

Title: COMMUTER LTT ABORTS TKOF DUE TO EXPLOSIVE NOISE, AND STEERING PROB.

Narrative: DURING THE TKOF ROLL AT APPROX 90 KIAS, THE ACFT EXPERIENCED A LOW NOISE SIMILAR TO AN EXPLOSION. THE ACFT VEERED TO THE R, AND STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT WITH AN UNUSUAL VIBRATION. THE TKOF WAS IMMEDIATELY ABORTED, AND THE ACFT WAS MAINTAINED ON THE RWY. MIAMI TWR OBSERVED THE SIT AND INSTRUCTED US TO EXIT RWY 12 AT THE 'NEXT L.' WE EXITED RWY 12 AT THE NEXT L WHICH WAS RWY 9R. ATC ADVISED US THAT THEY HAD INTENDED FOR US TO TURN ON THE NEXT L AVAILABLE TXWY AND HOLD SHORT OF RWY 9R, NOT TO TURN ONTO IT. WE IMMEDIATELY CLRED RWY 9R AS ADVISED. AT NO TIME WAS THE SAFETY OF OUR ACFT OR ANY OTHER ACFT UTILIZING RWY 9R IN JEOPARDY. THE INTENSITY OF OUR SIT COUPLED WITH THE FACT THAT IT WAS PEAK TIME OF DAY AT MIA AND THAT MIA WAS UTILIZING CONVERGING, PARALLEL AND INTERSECTING RWYS, CONTRIBUTED TO THE SIT. THIS WAS MERELY A MISCOM. CLRER INSTRUCTIONS ON THE PART OF ATC AND VERIFICATION BY US WOULD HAVE AIDED THE SIT.
