Narrative:
Broke out of clouds at 300-400 ft AGL. First officer got wind check. Approach and touchdown were smooth, right main, then left main, then nose. Power was flight idle on touchdown. Due to snow or ridge of same, aircraft came to stop off left side of runway collapsing left main. Night landing snow on runway. Wind 280 degrees at 12 KTS. Supplemental information from acn 289966: as the pilot reached for the power levers I felt a hard pull to the left and at this point we were skidding off the runway to the left. I don't know for what reason, but we went left and there wasn't a thing we could do. I feel the pilot made a very good approach and landing transition. It was when I felt the aircraft go left we had a problem.
