Narrative:

I had a flight in early dec to bur. Briefed first off on vny and possibility of TA/RA. Also briefed that, at normal vectoring altitude, we would have over 1000 ft separation from mountains northwest of bur, that a terrain GPWS warning could be expected and not to worry. We were VFR and, as briefed, we got a GPWS and did not respond. Looking back over air carrier and commercial pages, the reference to the GPWS situation has been taken out. Training stressed that whenever you get a GPWS you have to respond to a terrain warning and I see no authority in writing that allows me to deviate from that. Was the removal intentional from the bur pages in which case I should have recovered or can I still, in places like tus and bur, not respond and in what conditions (VFR-IFR)!
