Narrative:

Scheduled flight from slc to msy. On a 100 degree vector for tobe, then proceed direct when able. Turned to a heading of 130 degrees to track inbound to tobe upon reception, approximately 110 NM. TCASII squawked a converging aircraft at approximately 15 NM, FL330. ZDV called us for an immediate left turn to 090 degrees, and other aircraft descend to FL280. Other aircraft was opposite direction (wbound) and went down right side at approximately 5 NM. Appeared to be a business jet. Queried ZDV as to conflict and was told he did not remember we were going to tobe until he saw 2 converging tracks. Stated he was aware of our 100 degree heading, and thought it was for gage.
