Narrative:

Normal landing and rollout on runway 21R at dtw. Captain elected to exit the runway on high speed taxiway Y-9. Upon clearing the runway and stopping, captain elected to make right turn on taxiway 'Y': (approximately a 135 degree turn. When queried by myself as to the landing gear clearance on the taxiway edge, captain responded 'we should be ok.' as we pulled into the gate, someone was heard on the ground control frequency to say that it appeared some taxiway lights had been broken adjacent to the 21R taxiway. Unsure as to whether we had damaged the taxiway lights because of our turn radius, I felt it appropriate to fill out this report. After we had taxied clear of the runway I was initiating my checklist procedures and was making my radio call to the dtw ramp tower I looked up just prior to the 135 degree turn and made my comment at that time. Maybe the standard taxi route for widebody transport aircraft should be 'Y9' to 'K9' to taxiway 'K' so the problem could be resolved prior to it possibly happening again.

Title: CAPT OF WDB HIT TXWY LIGHTS WHEN TURNING ON TO TXWY AFTER LNDG.

Narrative: NORMAL LNDG AND ROLLOUT ON RWY 21R AT DTW. CAPT ELECTED TO EXIT THE RWY ON HIGH SPD TXWY Y-9. UPON CLRING THE RWY AND STOPPING, CAPT ELECTED TO MAKE R TURN ON TXWY 'Y': (APPROX A 135 DEG TURN. WHEN QUERIED BY MYSELF AS TO THE LNDG GEAR CLRNC ON THE TXWY EDGE, CAPT RESPONDED 'WE SHOULD BE OK.' AS WE PULLED INTO THE GATE, SOMEONE WAS HEARD ON THE GND CTL FREQ TO SAY THAT IT APPEARED SOME TXWY LIGHTS HAD BEEN BROKEN ADJACENT TO THE 21R TXWY. UNSURE AS TO WHETHER WE HAD DAMAGED THE TXWY LIGHTS BECAUSE OF OUR TURN RADIUS, I FELT IT APPROPRIATE TO FILL OUT THIS RPT. AFTER WE HAD TAXIED CLR OF THE RWY I WAS INITIATING MY CHKLIST PROCS AND WAS MAKING MY RADIO CALL TO THE DTW RAMP TWR I LOOKED UP JUST PRIOR TO THE 135 DEG TURN AND MADE MY COMMENT AT THAT TIME. MAYBE THE STANDARD TAXI RTE FOR WDB ACFT SHOULD BE 'Y9' TO 'K9' TO TXWY 'K' SO THE PROB COULD BE RESOLVED PRIOR TO IT POSSIBLY HAPPENING AGAIN.
