Narrative:
The tower controller cleared me for takeoff in front of landing traffic on runway 3L. He cautioned me about other incoming traffic from the northeast, and I was concentrating on that traffic. I did not see the traffic on final. The controller later explained that there had been 'a lot of distrs' and that he didn't realize that the situation was developing until the traffic on final requested a go around. I suggest identing the type of aircraft on initial callup to let controllers know about aircraft speed to allow sequencing better.

Title: TFC LNDG CONFLICT.
Narrative: THE TWR CTLR CLRED ME FOR TKOF IN FRONT OF LNDG TFC ON RWY 3L. HE CAUTIONED ME ABOUT OTHER INCOMING TFC FROM THE NE, AND I WAS CONCENTRATING ON THAT TFC. I DID NOT SEE THE TFC ON FINAL. THE CTLR LATER EXPLAINED THAT THERE HAD BEEN 'A LOT OF DISTRS' AND THAT HE DIDN'T REALIZE THAT THE SIT WAS DEVELOPING UNTIL THE TFC ON FINAL REQUESTED A GAR. I SUGGEST IDENTING THE TYPE OF ACFT ON INITIAL CALLUP TO LET CTLRS KNOW ABOUT ACFT SPD TO ALLOW SEQUENCING BETTER.
