Narrative:
We were called at XA35 for a freighter flight that had left lax earlier for sfo and had returned because sfo was below minimums due to fog. We were told that our departure was planned for XC30. Someone in our planning department really dropped the ball since the WX did not improve enough at sfo until XG30. We blocked out at XH52. We were so tired from the early morning wake up, and waiting for our departure that we missed some radio calls. Forgot about a 250 KT speed restr 'until further advise' by lax departure control, labored at entering a hold at bsr VOR, and came close to busting some altitudes. We have tried for many yrs to get management to understand the effects the lack of proper rest has on flight safety. I have no solutions to offer since deaf ears hear nothing.
