Narrative:
We landed on runway 14 at fwa, turned left, near the end of the runway, and taxied northwest on the parallel taxiway. I was flying the airplane, and we were told to hold short of the east/west runway (5/23). Instead of paying attention to my taxiing, I was watching the captain, change flight plans in the flight management system, reprogram the takeoff performance, call the FBO to see if our passenger were there yet, and finish the after landing checklist. My head was down and locked, and I taxied across a perpendicular, but an active runway. Our G4 is relatively new, and I find I am having a difficult time learning the automatic system. I feel I spend entirely too much time programming the autoplt to do very simple tasks. I have talked to pilots, who have been around the G4 longer than I have, and they tell me, the system are great. I am looking forward to feeling the same way, but my learning curve has been longer than expected.

Title: PLT TAXI'S ACROSS ACTIVE RWY WITHOUT CLRNC.
Narrative: WE LANDED ON RWY 14 AT FWA, TURNED L, NEAR THE END OF THE RWY, AND TAXIED NW ON THE PARALLEL TXWY. I WAS FLYING THE AIRPLANE, AND WE WERE TOLD TO HOLD SHORT OF THE E/W RWY (5/23). INSTEAD OF PAYING ATTN TO MY TAXIING, I WAS WATCHING THE CAPT, CHANGE FLT PLANS IN THE FLT MGMNT SYS, REPROGRAM THE TKOF PERFORMANCE, CALL THE FBO TO SEE IF OUR PAX WERE THERE YET, AND FINISH THE AFTER LNDG CHKLIST. MY HEAD WAS DOWN AND LOCKED, AND I TAXIED ACROSS A PERPENDICULAR, BUT AN ACTIVE RWY. OUR G4 IS RELATIVELY NEW, AND I FIND I AM HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME LEARNING THE AUTOMATIC SYS. I FEEL I SPEND ENTIRELY TOO MUCH TIME PROGRAMMING THE AUTOPLT TO DO VERY SIMPLE TASKS. I HAVE TALKED TO PLTS, WHO HAVE BEEN AROUND THE G4 LONGER THAN I HAVE, AND THEY TELL ME, THE SYS ARE GREAT. I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO FEELING THE SAME WAY, BUT MY LEARNING CURVE HAS BEEN LONGER THAN EXPECTED.
