Narrative:
After pushback from gate X at ord, we wre holding short of taxiway a at A-21 facing east. Ground control told us to wait for 3 planes to pass then make a right turn on taxiway a, expect further instructions later. After 3 closely spaced light twin commuter airline's planes passed, there was a gap of about 1/4 mi to another plane which was sbound on taxiway a prior to the dogleg after the bridge. I started onto taxiway a and realized that the other plane was taxiing extremely fast. I had to make my turn sharper, accelerate, and angle toward the taxiway centerline to avoid what might have been a ground collision. The other aircraft (air carrier commuter bac jet) made a sarcastic comment to ground about the incident as if he had the right-of-way. It is not uncommon to see the commuter types taxiing around congested ramps at high speed. I predict an accident unless they are forced to slow to safe speeds.

Title: THE RPTR HAD TO MAKE A SHARP TURN AND ACCELERATE AND ANGLE TOWARD THE TXWY CTRLINE TO AVOID WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A COLLISION WITH A FAST TAXIING COMMUTER ACFT.
Narrative: AFTER PUSHBACK FROM GATE X AT ORD, WE WRE HOLDING SHORT OF TXWY A AT A-21 FACING E. GND CTL TOLD US TO WAIT FOR 3 PLANES TO PASS THEN MAKE A R TURN ON TXWY A, EXPECT FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS LATER. AFTER 3 CLOSELY SPACED LIGHT TWIN COMMUTER AIRLINE'S PLANES PASSED, THERE WAS A GAP OF ABOUT 1/4 MI TO ANOTHER PLANE WHICH WAS SBOUND ON TXWY A PRIOR TO THE DOGLEG AFTER THE BRIDGE. I STARTED ONTO TXWY A AND REALIZED THAT THE OTHER PLANE WAS TAXIING EXTREMELY FAST. I HAD TO MAKE MY TURN SHARPER, ACCELERATE, AND ANGLE TOWARD THE TXWY CTRLINE TO AVOID WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN A GND COLLISION. THE OTHER ACFT (ACR COMMUTER BAC JET) MADE A SARCASTIC COMMENT TO GND ABOUT THE INCIDENT AS IF HE HAD THE RIGHT-OF-WAY. IT IS NOT UNCOMMON TO SEE THE COMMUTER TYPES TAXIING AROUND CONGESTED RAMPS AT HIGH SPD. I PREDICT AN ACCIDENT UNLESS THEY ARE FORCED TO SLOW TO SAFE SPDS.
