Narrative:
Cleared to descend to altitude 2000 ft. Altimeter setting 0999 hectar pascals (mbs). PF set 29.99 in hg. PNF set 0999 mbs but did not cross check PF setting of 29.99 in hg. Relief pilot did not check either. Descended to 1750 ft before all 3 pilots realized error. Climbed back to altitude 2000 ft and completed the approach. ATC said nothing. Emphasizes how easy it is to make this mistake when flying USA and europe.
