Narrative:
Got left main landing gear red unsafe light, on gear extension. Followed company emergency manual procedures, visually checked gear down. Declared emergency and requested equipment to stand by. Landed without incident, pinned gear, taxied to gate. FAA inspector on jumpseat. I feel incident was handled correctly in every respect, however, I am filing this report as a backup. FAA inspector did not indicate any problems with the way we handled emergency situation.
