Narrative:
I own an aerobatic aircraft equipped with smoke. I have a friend with a restaurant on the beach who asks me, sometimes, to come and do a few turns with the smoke around his place. His customers enjoy it. I never do aerobatics, only steep turns with smoke. I only get low over the ocean and climb back above A1A and the restaurant. It is not a populated area like daytona, there are just a few people on the beach and on the road. It was probably bad judgement on my part to do it on bike week where there are a few more people than usual. I did a couple of turns as usual, 3, 4 mins at most, and when I came back to land, I was welcomed by cops who told me that people stopped on the side of the road to watch and it created a small traffic jam. The cop was under the impression that I created a very dangerous situation. As far as I have been able to find out, no one complained, except the policeman himself. One person thought that an aircraft was on fire but realized quickly that it was not. I am really sorry if I created a dangerous situation, I certainly did not intend to. There are a lot of banner towing in the area and people are used to seeing low flying aircraft. However, they are not used to seeing the smoke and it might have frightened some, entertained others and created an undesirable situation. I can promise that I will not do it again, even if I am asked again.

THERE ARE A LOT OF BANNER TOWING IN THE AREA AND PEOPLE ARE USED TO SEEING LOW FLYING ACFT. HOWEVER, THEY ARE NOT USED TO SEEING THE SMOKE AND IT MIGHT HAVE FRIGHTENED SOME, ENTERTAINED OTHERS AND CREATED AN UNDESIRABLE SIT. I CAN PROMISE THAT I WILL NOT DO IT AGAIN, EVEN IF I AM ASKED AGAIN.
