Narrative:
Strong mountain wave. Autoplt was connected, and we experienced altitude variations of plus, or minus 300 ft, continually. 1 wave took us to FL37.6, before we started down. (Noted by controller). Tried autoplt in turbulence mode, and also, flew by hand. Constant variations of 300-400 ft from assigned altitude, with moderate chop. Other aircraft, in vicinity, reported similar problems.
