Narrative:
After handoff to approach control, #1 communication became staticky, unable to receive. Switched to #2, same occurrence. Checked for stuck mikes, none. Descended to 4000 ft, last assigned altitude. Broke out VFR, squawked 7600, landed after receiving green light from tower, taxied after green light. Also cause of failure unknown - suspect electrical or antenna fault.

Narrative: AFTER HDOF TO APCH CTL, #1 COM BECAME STATICKY, UNABLE TO RECEIVE. SWITCHED TO #2, SAME OCCURRENCE. CHKED FOR STUCK MIKES, NONE. DSNDED TO 4000 FT, LAST ASSIGNED ALT. BROKE OUT VFR, SQUAWKED 7600, LANDED AFTER RECEIVING GREEN LIGHT FROM TWR, TAXIED AFTER GREEN LIGHT. ALSO CAUSE OF FAILURE UNKNOWN - SUSPECT ELECTRICAL OR ANTENNA FAULT.
