Narrative:

I figured takeoff performance, since we were light (96000 pounds) from the most restrictive intersection for runway 30L. The captain turned at intersection K for takeoff. When we were cleared for takeoff we both realized that we were not at the end of runway 30L. He asked me if we had numbers for the intersection takeoff and I said yes. He could see we were well behind the 7000 ft marker and I could see the beginning of runway 30L, 1 taxiway down. I knew I had figured the performance from the intersection and told the captain that we 'had numbers for takeoff.' at cruise the captain was looking at the 10-9 page and asked to see the performance book. That's when we realized that the performance was figured from lima, not kilo. When I figure performance now, I write down on a piece of paper where the performance is figured, ie, full length, kilo, lima. Also the markings at sjc are very confusing. The runway starts at 'microphone' on the 10-9 page but appears to start at 'lima' on the ground. The captain used good cockpit resource management and we both discussed the problem worked the performance from kilo (short runway table) and continued without further incident.

Title: FLC OF AN MLG INADVERTENTLY ACCEPTED LESS RWY LENGTH FOR AN INTXN TKOF THAN REQUIRED.

Narrative: I FIGURED TKOF PERFORMANCE, SINCE WE WERE LIGHT (96000 LBS) FROM THE MOST RESTRICTIVE INTXN FOR RWY 30L. THE CAPT TURNED AT INTXN K FOR TKOF. WHEN WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF WE BOTH REALIZED THAT WE WERE NOT AT THE END OF RWY 30L. HE ASKED ME IF WE HAD NUMBERS FOR THE INTXN TKOF AND I SAID YES. HE COULD SEE WE WERE WELL BEHIND THE 7000 FT MARKER AND I COULD SEE THE BEGINNING OF RWY 30L, 1 TXWY DOWN. I KNEW I HAD FIGURED THE PERFORMANCE FROM THE INTXN AND TOLD THE CAPT THAT WE 'HAD NUMBERS FOR TKOF.' AT CRUISE THE CAPT WAS LOOKING AT THE 10-9 PAGE AND ASKED TO SEE THE PERFORMANCE BOOK. THE RWY STARTS AT 'MIKE' ON THE 10-9 PAGE BUT APPEARS TO START AT 'LIMA' ON THE GND. THE CAPT USED GOOD COCKPIT RESOURCE MGMNT AND WE BOTH DISCUSSED THE PROB WORKED THE PERFORMANCE FROM KILO (SHORT RWY TABLE) AND CONTINUED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT.
