Air carrier X assigned heading with autoplt on. PF overshot heading. PNF caught error and requested heading from center. Center said present heading ok. Observed opposite direction aircraft Y on TCASII. Eventually TCASII RA. (We had visual on traffic prior RA.) no evasive action required.
