Narrative:
The first officer and I briefly reviewed the taxi instructions, 'taxi to runway 1.' as I began to taxi we both became involved in the before takeoff checks. As I turned the wrong way at an intersection we became aware of our taxi error. I asked for a 180 degrees to proceed to runway 1. In retrospect, we should have graphically reviewed the taxi clearance, and kept better situational awareness.
