Narrative:
Flight attendant notified cockpit of very ill passenger might not be breathing. We requested to be cleared to msy for landing and notified dispatcher. Several doctors on board used emergency medical kit, 2 oxygen bottles and plastic mouth piece from both first aid kits during attempts to revive. After landing, he was removed by emt crew. Prior to departure, I contacted maintenance coordinator who advised the emergency medical kit, was being replaced. In addition, local stations people were advised to replace the first aid kits and oxygen bottles. Upon landing in atl, flight attendant advised she still needed a new oxygen bottle and 1 first aid kit. These items were to be replaced in msy, but apparently this did not happen. 3 breakdowns occurred: 1) atl maintenance coordinator failed to transmit message concerning replacement of emergency equipment. 2) msy stations people failed to replace part of emergency equipment required for flight. 3) flight attendants failed to inform cockpit crew that all equipment had not been replaced. Recommendations: in today's environment, it is imperative for captain and first officer to check and rechk.

Title: SICK PAX USES AIRPLANE EMER SUPPLIES WHICH ARE INADVERTENTLY NOT COMPLETELY REPLENISHED PRIOR TO DEPARTING AFTER DIVERTING FOR THE PAX TO AN EMER LNDG.
Narrative: FA NOTIFIED COCKPIT OF VERY ILL PAX MIGHT NOT BE BREATHING. WE REQUESTED TO BE CLRED TO MSY FOR LNDG AND NOTIFIED DISPATCHER. SEVERAL DOCTORS ON BOARD USED EMER MEDICAL KIT, 2 OXYGEN BOTTLES AND PLASTIC MOUTH PIECE FROM BOTH FIRST AID KITS DURING ATTEMPTS TO REVIVE. AFTER LNDG, HE WAS REMOVED BY EMT CREW. PRIOR TO DEP, I CONTACTED MAINT COORDINATOR WHO ADVISED THE EMER MEDICAL KIT, WAS BEING REPLACED. IN ADDITION, LCL STATIONS PEOPLE WERE ADVISED TO REPLACE THE FIRST AID KITS AND OXYGEN BOTTLES. UPON LNDG IN ATL, FLT ATTENDANT ADVISED SHE STILL NEEDED A NEW OXYGEN BOTTLE AND 1 FIRST AID KIT. THESE ITEMS WERE TO BE REPLACED IN MSY, BUT APPARENTLY THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. 3 BREAKDOWNS OCCURRED: 1) ATL MAINT COORDINATOR FAILED TO XMIT MESSAGE CONCERNING REPLACEMENT OF EMER EQUIP. 2) MSY STATIONS PEOPLE FAILED TO REPLACE PART OF EMER EQUIP REQUIRED FOR FLT. 3) FLT ATTENDANTS FAILED TO INFORM COCKPIT CREW THAT ALL EQUIP HAD NOT BEEN REPLACED. RECOMMENDATIONS: IN TODAY'S ENVIRONMENT, IT IS IMPERATIVE FOR CAPT AND FO TO CHK AND RECHK.
