Narrative:
Cell phone use in-flight. Both navigational display CDI's started to oscillate off scale to the right and then back to center. Had flight attendants do cabin sweep and found a first class passenger using his own unit. When turned off, navigation system returned to normal.

Title: PAX CELL PHONE CAUSES NAVIGATIONAL DISPLAY UNITS TO OSCILLATE FULL SCALE DURING FLT.
Narrative: CELL PHONE USE INFLT. BOTH NAVIGATIONAL DISPLAY CDI'S STARTED TO OSCILLATE OFF SCALE TO THE R AND THEN BACK TO CTR. HAD FLT ATTENDANTS DO CABIN SWEEP AND FOUND A FIRST CLASS PAX USING HIS OWN UNIT. WHEN TURNED OFF, NAV SYS RETURNED TO NORMAL.
