Narrative:
I took off from ryan field and flew to sells air strip where I made 1 landing. Returned to ryan field for 1 touch- and-go and 1 full stop landing, which turned out to be 2 touch-and-go and 1 full stop. Non federal control tower controller cleared me for landing behind a helicopter which was making practice lndgs on the runway. The helicopter had lifted off moments before I was to make my touchdown when I experienced what I didn't know at the time was wake turbulence. The little C-150 I had rented came down hard on the runway, bounced up in a high angle of attack with full flaps, low RPM and to the left of the runway. The left wheel struck and broke a runway light. I immediately applied full power and somehow managed to regain control and proceed into the air and into the traffic pattern to make a full stop landing. There was no damage to the airplane and the renter didn't make an issue of the incident. All was forgotten. Total pilot time at the time of the incident: 343.9 hours.

Title: C-150 TRAINING FLT HAS WAKE TURB ENCOUNTER, LOSS OF ACFT CTL, HARD LNDG.
Narrative: I TOOK OFF FROM RYAN FIELD AND FLEW TO SELLS AIR STRIP WHERE I MADE 1 LNDG. RETURNED TO RYAN FIELD FOR 1 TOUCH- AND-GO AND 1 FULL STOP LNDG, WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE 2 TOUCH-AND-GO AND 1 FULL STOP. NON FEDERAL CTL TWR CTLR CLRED ME FOR LNDG BEHIND A HELI WHICH WAS MAKING PRACTICE LNDGS ON THE RWY. THE HELI HAD LIFTED OFF MOMENTS BEFORE I WAS TO MAKE MY TOUCHDOWN WHEN I EXPERIENCED WHAT I DIDN'T KNOW AT THE TIME WAS WAKE TURB. THE LITTLE C-150 I HAD RENTED CAME DOWN HARD ON THE RWY, BOUNCED UP IN A HIGH ANGLE OF ATTACK WITH FULL FLAPS, LOW RPM AND TO THE L OF THE RWY. THE L WHEEL STRUCK AND BROKE A RWY LIGHT. I IMMEDIATELY APPLIED FULL PWR AND SOMEHOW MANAGED TO REGAIN CTL AND PROCEED INTO THE AIR AND INTO THE TFC PATTERN TO MAKE A FULL STOP LNDG. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE AND THE RENTER DIDN'T MAKE AN ISSUE OF THE INCIDENT. ALL WAS FORGOTTEN. TOTAL PLT TIME AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT: 343.9 HRS.
