Narrative:

Tucumcari flight service just closed. Sectionals list FSS frequency as CTAF. However, albuquerque either does not monitor 123.6 or they do not answer calls to tucumcari radio. Therefore, you cannot get field advisories on CTAF. Unicom will give advisories though. As a result, as I was getting fuel I saw 2 airplanes in patterns for different runways, 1 calling out on CTAF and the other on unicom frequency. I have witnessed this confusion at other airports which have or had a FSS when FSS is closed, but unicom is open. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: called abq AFSS to inquire about tcc FSS closure. Specialist advised that tcc FSS closed on march 30, 1995 and aeronautical charts published in may reflected changes to frequencys and removal of tcc FSS from charts. Current procedures reflect 1 CTAF frequency 122.95.
