Narrative:

The flight was a production check of an aircraft that is not yet type certificated. The aircraft certificate was a special airworthiness certificate. The first flight of the aircraft was from paine field to boeing field and was of less than 5 hours duration. After the flight, it was discovered that the aircraft had been required to fly 5 hours before landing at boeing field. The crew had been verbally assured before the flight that the 5 hour restr did not apply to their aircraft. However, the formal paper work was not changed to reflect this decision.
