Narrative:
Dc-10, other than at very light weights, will capture altitude at all times on autoplt. On this occasion it did not. Next time, with excessive climb vsi, I'll cut vertical speed wheel in half. Should prevent this from recurring. Supplemental information from acn 301645: in the future I will 'shallow' the rate of climb when approaching altitude at light weights. Dc-10 training should address this possibility.
