Narrative:

When cleared for a visual into danville, va, we noticed a pickup truck on the active runway. The truck was being used to tow a hand glider and was left at the end of runway 20. We circled 3 times and requested through unicom that the truck be moved. After approximately 6-10 mins, it was moved and we landed. To correct this problem, no vehicles should be allowed on any airport area. We were told that only notice was from the airport manager who ok'd the glider activity. If the visibility had been a little less, I do not know if we would have seen this truck -- dark truck -- dark runway.
