Narrative:
Over atlantic passenger standing near aft galley smoking and drinking. Disposed of cigarette in a plastic cup that was in a container containing other paper and melted the cup and set fire to the paper. Flight attendant smelled smoke and discovered fire and extinguished it with a pitcher of water. A few mins more and a disastrous situation could have developed. We need to stop people standing and smoking immediately and ban all smoking while on en route operations where there is nowhere to go. I intend to implement this on my aircraft immediately.
