Narrative:
Taxiing out of cargo ramp for runway 28R, missed turn from taxiway N3 onto N2. Recognized it late and stopped just prior to runway 28R (on N3). Almost made left turn onto runway 28R, thinking it was taxiway N2. Contributing factors: 1) dropped SID plate on the floor and looked down to retrieve it while taxiing. 2) the takeoff checklist was in progress and 1 response was missed by first officer. As a result, my attention was directed to so, asking him to 'recall' the previous checklist item. 3) taxiway blue lights were dim on taxiway N2, and it wasn't obvious that we passed taxiway N2.
