Narrative:
Tuned wrong frequency on communication radio. Lost communication for 8 mins in beijing control airspace. When we found the correct frequency we were punished by the ATC, by having to do a square 360 degrees while descending to a lower altitude. Next day I was requested to report to the beijing airport tower for debriefing on this incident. Our normal procedure in the event this happens is to continue to destination while trying to establish communication. Maybe in china they will shoot you down for that. I doubt our FAA will hear of this incident through normal channels, but we should be aware of china's different requirements, and possible dangers.
