Narrative:
At 12000 ft we received an RA on TCASII to climb. ATC said aircraft (providing parachute jump service) was at 11800 ft, VFR, and going back to 11500 ft. Then ATC said aircraft was climbing from 11500 ft to 12500 ft. We had an RA the entire time as we expected aircraft to be descending as we climbed. Very surprised to find that aircraft was also climbing, thereby negating the RA. We climbed from 12000 ft to 12500 ft, then back to comply.

Title: TCASII. ATC COORD PROB.
Narrative: AT 12000 FT WE RECEIVED AN RA ON TCASII TO CLB. ATC SAID ACFT (PROVIDING PARACHUTE JUMP SVC) WAS AT 11800 FT, VFR, AND GOING BACK TO 11500 FT. THEN ATC SAID ACFT WAS CLBING FROM 11500 FT TO 12500 FT. WE HAD AN RA THE ENTIRE TIME AS WE EXPECTED ACFT TO BE DSNDING AS WE CLBED. VERY SURPRISED TO FIND THAT ACFT WAS ALSO CLBING, THEREBY NEGATING THE RA. WE CLBED FROM 12000 FT TO 12500 FT, THEN BACK TO COMPLY.
